Little One's Must-Haves

Yeah, I have been featuring beauty products and reviews lately. So this time, I will be featuring my little ones' must-haves.   I know every mom wants what's best for our babies but, of course, there are still products that may be more affordable compared to other products yet hiyang to our little ones.

So, mommies, here's my little one's must-haves :

Product Name : Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser

Product Description : This gentle, soap-free cleanser was originally formulated for dermatologists, specifically for everyday cleansing of even the most sensitive skin.

Use/s : For the face

For my little one's body, I have been using either Johnson's Milk Bar Soap or Nivea Baby Head to Toe Wash.   My little one also tried using Lactacyd Toddlertubs but unfortunately, it does not work out since she is so active and super pawisin.   But for my little one's face, I am consistent on using Cetaphil.   The best thing about this product is that it is non-comedogenic.   It is a non-irritating cleanser and does not dry up my little ones skin.   It also has no scent and leaves my baby's skin feeling soft and smooth.

Product Name : Banana Boat Kids Sunscreen Lotion SPF UVB 50 PA+++

Product Description : Safeguards your child's delicate skin.

Directions : Apply generously and evenly to exposed skin 20 minutes before sun exposure.  Reapply at frequent intervals after perspiring, swimming or towel drying. 

Use/s : For the skin 

The present temperature is sometimes so harsh on our skin, most especially to our little one's.   To protect our angels from the scorching heat,  sunscreen lotion is really a must-have.   This one has been good to my baby's skin sensitivity.  There has been no rashes or redness on her skin once we start using this lotion.   It also has oxybenzone - an organic compound used in sunscreens that provides broad-spectrum ultraviolet coverage, including UVB and short-wave UVA rays.   Just take note, mommies, that even though our baby has sunscreen lotion applied on their skin, overexposure to the sun is still a serious health threat.  

 Product Name : Caladryl Lotion Anti-Itch Skin Protectant

Product Description : For soothing relief of itching due to insect bites, skin allergy and other minor skin irritations.

Directions : Shake well before use.   Apply on the affected area of the skin three to four times daily.

My little ones skin is sensitive that a small mosquito bite may turn into a scar.   This has been my problem since I could not predict the places she went.  That's why I always bring Caladryl Lotion  with me wherever we go.   Applying this lotion to the bitten area prevents itchiness on my little ones skin.   So we say bye-bye to redness due to itchiness, bye-bye to scars.

Product Name :Tiny Fangs Kiddie Tooth Gel

Product Description : A safer training tooth gel for children aged 3 years old and above.  This Xylitol tooth gel helps to prevent tooth decay and promotes healthy gums.

Directions : Use a pea size amount and rinse thoroughly after use.

The proper amount of fluoride helps prevent and control tooth decay in children and adults. Fluoride works both while the teeth are developing and every day after the teeth have emerged through the gums. Fluoride consumed during tooth development can also result in a range of visible changes to the enamel surface of the tooth. These changes have been broadly termed dental fluorosis, or dental fluorosis. Dental fluorosis is a change in the appearance of the tooth's enamel. These changes can vary from barely noticeable white spots in mild forms to staining and pitting in the more severe forms. Dental fluorosis only occurs when younger children consume too much fluoride, from any source, over long periods when teeth are developing under the gums.   Only children aged 8 years and younger can develop dental fluorosis because this is when permanent teeth are developing under the gums  (source : Center for Disease Control and Prevention).

While us, adults, knows how to properly spit after brushing our teeth, I know that my little one has been swallowing her toothpaste while brushing.   I wanted to prevent the occurrence of dental fluorosis on her teeth that's why this toothpaste is such an angel for me.  This one is flouride-free, has xylitol, paraben-free (paraben = preservatives used in cosmetics and by pharmaceutical industries), SLS-free (SLS = sodium lauryl sulfate, an inexpensive and very effective foaming agent) and has no artificial color.  

You may ask, what is xylitol?  Xylitol is a healthy natural sweetener extracted from fruits, berries and is a popular ingredient in food and cosmetics because of its following benefits :

• prevents tooth decay
• stops plague growth
• relives dry mouth
• improves breath smell
• remineralizes tooth enamel at the onset of tooth decay
• reduces gum disease
• stimulates salivary flow

 Product Name : Baby Spa VCO Skin Protecting Liquid Powder

Product Description : A combination of the revolutionary VCO Tri-LauriCare and Vitamin E.   This liquid powder delivers the performance of a baby powder without the risk of inhalation of dust particles. 

Directions : Massage generously all over the body.   Re-apply as needed.

Since my little one has asthma and has sensitive skin, I could not let her use baby powders, lotions or colognes.   I tried using these products to her for so many times but to my guilt, asthma or rasher would always be a problem.   Thanks to this liquid powder, my little one were able to smell sweet without risking asthma attack or skin rashes.   This was introduced to me by my office mate and fellow mommy and my baby's skin love it immediately.   It is dermatologist tested to be hypoallergenic.  It does not smell so strong or overpowering, it scent is so baby-ish!
