DIY Balloon Hat

You want to impress your guests with a very crafty balloon art on your children’s party or you want the children in the party to engage in creating balloon shapes for themselves?  Try the balloon hat.  This is one of the basics and the simplest form of balloon art where you can create a hat with just one balloon.  However, you can add more balloons to make it bigger.

How to do it?  I’ll teach you!

What you will need :

·      Long balloon of different colors

·      Hand held balloon inflator

Step by Step Guide in Making a Party Balloon Hat :

1.   Inflate the long balloon. 

2.   Form a small ball out of the long balloon by twisting at least one or two inches from the end of the balloon.

3.     For the remaining parts of the balloon, you have to estimate (or much better, measure) the head of the kid who is going to wear it by wrapping it around the head from the end of the ball we created earlier.  Make sure that it would be firm fit but also ensure that it would not be tight for the wearer.  Hold the part of the balloon that meets end of the small ball and twist.  Twist the both ends together and secure it.

4.    You now have a circle where the head would go, a small ball, and the excess one.  Twist the small ball and the excess to properly secure it.

5.    The excess of the balloon can stand up as a design.

Tip :  If you already get the hang of doing this, try experimenting other designs and alternatives in making balloon hats.  Try adding one long balloon and explore by twisting and turning it into various shapes off hats.
