This is considered as one of our spur-of-a-moment trips. My husband and I have been talking about out of town yet inexpensive trips. We already went to this place sometime in 2010 yet I wasn't able to enjoy the whole time we were there since I was still pregnant. However, I thought of this one when asked by my husband where to spend our weekend since Kaizle, our daughter, was having cough at that time and a bathe on the sulfuric water of the spring can help ease if not cure her cough. I remember during our 2010 trip there that my nephew was suffering from bronchial asthma however, after a day's bathing and swimming on the hot spring, his asthma was gone immediately that night.
Sira-an Hot Spring is situated in Anini-y, the southernmost part of the province of Antique, Western Visayas. It is 43 kilometers from the capital town of Antique and two hours travel from Iloilo City.

Didn't miss the chance to have a pic on its welcome sign. Everybody did this. |
This hot spring is managed by the local government unit of the said municipality which features swimming pool and mini-bath tubs with hot, sulfuric water. Many believed that the water has a therapeutic effect on aching muscles and skin diseases.

One large pool. Ahead the pool are to two mini-bathtubs. One of the bathtubs has 4 tubs in it. |
We booked our reservation for one room overnight through the following numbers :
0917 4989652; 09473156766. We were accommodated in one of their standard aircon rooms (good for 4 persons). They don't have room for two persons, by the way. The room is average, however, we were expecting at least a television set to entertain us while we are in the room. We are also expecting a hot and cold shower as part of the accommodation since kids could not bear the coldness of the water there.

We settled on one of the mini-bathtubs since Kaizle does not want crowded areas. We started dipping in the mini-bathtubs at around 5:30 PM and ended at 6:45 PM. We already forced Kaizle to get out of the tub since it was already night time and we were bothered that her cough might get worse if we stayed long in the water.

We slept at around 8:50 PM. Too early since we have nothing to do and no TV set to watch any movies or programs.
We woke up at around 6:50 AM. We were advised that the canteen will open at 7 AM so we decided to stroll around the resort especially the beach front since Kaizle is so eager to use her pail beach set. Unfortunately, we waited so long (actually very long) since the canteen opened nearly 8 in the morning. Good thing we brought along a Koko Crunch and milk for Kaizle to ease her hunger while waiting for our breakfast.

The canteen serves good food. And you can order food or meals in advance to be served at your desired time.

Good thing there were "maglalako" selling native foods while we're waiting for the canteen to open. |
We continue dipping in the mini-tub after eating our breakfast, and Kaizle again enjoyed the moment.

Snack time before heading home. |
We checked out at around 1 PM after eating our lunch but did not left the resort yet. We stroll around the area, ate a snack before leaving so that we will not be hungry while traveling.
Over-all, we had a great time. And by the way, Kaizle's cough was cured the day after.
