Olay Skin Whitening Bar Rose & Milk : The #OneWashWonder

I have been wondering why skin whitening always come with sacrifice (or pains).   I have tried several whitening soaps, like papaya soaps (Check my review on PSALMSTRE PLACENTA PAPAYA SOAP), calamansi soaps and now, the kojic acid soap that's gaining popularity in terms of effective whitening.   But the price I have to pay for the sake of skin whitening is to have a dry (super) and itchy skin in return.

I noticed that Sample Room's been up with hair care products lately.  Just when our sampled Palmolive Naturals Intensive Moisture Shampoo + Cream Conditioner (check my reviews on this duo!) nearing empty, SR has another set of hair care that claims to be good in giving moisture and nourishment to the hair.

The 5-day Challenge : Face Sheet Mask

When stress hits me, especially when work demands for so many deadlines, the only thing that could relieve me from it is BEAUTY PAMPERING.   Just lately, I indulge myself and enjoyed the luxury of time through FACE SHEET MASK.   They are one of my favorite skin care products because once I had it on my face, I felt relaxed, rejuvenated, pampered and I had a mental feeling that I am in a spa from the comfort of my own home.

Do you really need a FACE SHEET MASK?

Of course!  Just a little musing, to de-stress myself, I stopped by Watsons and hoard a few face sheet masks and decide to do a 5-day challenge with these masks.  (Actually I bought 8 of it.  Sorry, when stress hits me, I don't do the math. Lol!  And when you're faced with numerous masks in the store, you could not decide what to pick.)   I have previously tried using face sheet masks but not on a daily basis since it is also expensive.

Gluta-C with Kojic Plus+ Whitening System (Face & Body Powder + Body Lotion)

Have you heard of kojic acid?  Which brand of beauty products having Kojic acid is more effective in skin whitening for you?  

Kojic acid is a by-product in the fermentation process of malting rice. for use in the manufacturing of Sake or the Japanese rice wine.  It is a mild inhibitor of the formation of pigment in plant and animal tissues, and is used in food and cosmetics to preserve or change colors of substances.  (source : Wikipedia)

Kojic acid has becoming popular nowadays known to have faster lightening effect on the skin and it is mostly incorporated as one of the active ingredients in most beauty products like lotions, serums, creams and soaps.

Sample Room has another up for grabs kojic-based beauty products for its members and I, fancied with the lightening effects brought by kojic acid, sampled a set of face & body powder + body lotion from Gluta-C. (I did not include the soap in the sampled products, although it is also available, because Kojic soaps always made my skin super dry and itchy.)

Great and effective products entails great price.  I am not judging those affordable products but the reason why these products are priced in a much higher cost are because they are effective products.   And I believe that is also the reason why Mustela products are a bit more expensive than the rest of other baby products.

But who cares as long as it is safe and effective on my babies' skin needs?

I bought another set of Mustela baby (they have for mommies, too) products, as I mentioned on my August haul post.  Ahtough my baby does not have skin asthma or eczema, the hot, humid weather nowadays causes bungang araw on my baby's skin and Mustela STELATOPIA® Milky Bath Oil is a great help.

I had my hair rebonded for almost 2 months and I am very much keen on trying hair care products that would make my hair dry or worse, damaged it.  I was advised by the salon to try hair masking every once a week to keep my hair healthy and shiny.  (You know, without proper care to our hair that undergone rebonding might cause severe damage to it.  So pretties, be aware.)

I have to admit it, I begun to think and consider anti-aging beauty products when I entered the age of 30.  And now that I am 34 and hurdling so many tasks, these products are considered as great investments.

Change is Coming : The New Me!

Although I hibernated from blogosphere for 2 years, I was able to be active on my other social media accounts.  I was able to change my Instagram username into babiesbooksandlollipops.

What made me change my username? 

After giving birth to our second kid, a baby boy, and while contemplating what to do during my more-than-2 months of maternity leave, I had more time browsing and updating my Instagram account.   Aside from taking care of the newborn baby, his Ate and the husband, at the same time juggling house chores despite the presence of a house helper, I was able to take time reading my dusty books piled in the corner cabinet of our house that were not touched for the past months because I always felt tired and sleepy during my entire pregnancy.   It was also during these period that I was able to eat all the sweet foods I would want to eat (I was deprived on these during my pregnancy because I was having gestational diabetes.)  The husband has been so generous to provide me with these.

Back From Hiatus : My Personal Struggle

It's been almost 2 years since my last blog post here.  Although I made a commitment to give blogging a priority, I could not help but to set aside this due to several personal issues.

Four years ago, our loving mother suffered a very rare disease called cerebellar degeneration.  Mother physician first gave a diagnosis of mild stroke due to her trouble in speaking, walking and moving.  We have tried all the medications and therapy necessary for her recuperation.  But after 5 months with no improvements on her condition, we seek for a second opinion.  There we discovered that she has been suffering from cerebellar degeneration. 

You may ask, what is this disease?  Cerebellar degeneration to be understood by non-medical individuals is the state of cerebellum becoming degenerate or deteriorate.  In the case of our mother, her cerebellum shrink to a size of a 3-year old kid.  And once the brain, the cerebellum in her case, is damaged or deteriorate, there will be no chance for it to be repaired back to its normal size
